Our most important organ is not between our legs, it is between our ears. Our minds control our lives. Therefore, the way to take control of your life and yank it up to the next level is by taking control of your mind and the thoughts you allow yourself to think. If you think this group is going to suck just like all the other ones, then it is going to suck just like all the other ones. If you think you are going to get divorced just like every other male in your family, then you will eventually get divorced. If you think that you will never get out of credit card debt, then you will never get out of credit card debt.
On the other hand, Thinking that your marriage will last will lead you to putting energy into building rather than just surviving your marriage. Believing that your current debt levels will someday be eliminated is a prerequisite to changing your financial behavior and balance sheet.
Proverbs isn’t talking about deluding ourselves with happy thoughts that will miraculously bring happiness. It is telling us that our mind/body connection is real. Only we can control our minds. No one else. We are not victims, because in controlling what we think, we can control our lives. Children whine and act like victims. You are not a child. You are a man with a powerful mind that can help bring things into reality.
What area of your life or mind feels out of control?
This week, take one step of self- control by making a choice to refrain from doing something. Example: If your anger is out of control, refuse to respond back angry and walk away and think about how to resolve the situation.
Right now, where are you struggling the most?
Is it in your Faith?
Is it in your Focus with yourself?
Is it in your fitness with your food you fuel your body with or the work out you Chose not to do?
Is it in your family are you spending time showing them love spending true time with them?
Is in your finances do you need to make more money, save more money, or pay off the debit that is a burden to you?
As he thinks in his heart, so is he.
